Top Places to visit in Sydney (central)

Sydney – one of Australia’s largest cities. Famous for it’s harbour front Sydney Opera House. Here are some of the places explored and visited. Did I miss anything? Let me know.

Museum of Contemporary Art Australia
– 140 George St, The Rocks NSW 2000

I am obsessed with lighting – I love it all and there was a treat waiting at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, “Sip my Ocean exhibition” by Pipilotti Rist. Opening with two large screens, connected in the corner, a mirrored video of the sea habitat environment was playing. Bean bags were available whilst absorbing the imagery and accompanied music.

Suspended glass light globes gently glowing. Hypnotising I sat here for a while and immersed myself in the middle, watching the room illuminating gently and sporadically according to the sounds. I knew I couldn’t stay there forever, even though I wanted to, wondering further hanging silver spheres bounced and refracted their projections mixing the sea and space imagery…. you’ll have to check it out, I could go on in detail about the other rooms, but I’ll try keep my articles short.

Darling Harbour
Harbor in the City of Sydney, NSW 2000

Beautiful to visit both day and night, Darling Harbour. With a variety of waterfront food and drink options, street performers, music, would definitely like to visit again and try a water taxi!

Queen Victoria Building

Late nineteenth-century building designed by the architect George McRae. Stunning historical architecture worth taking a peek.

Carriage Works

Carriage works was on my “to see” list. Holding various art displays, performances and entertainment – I didn’t realise there was also a space for a market! The market fresh food (fruit and veg), flowers a good mixture to cater for all diets.

Spice Alley

A tucked away treasure, thanks to Danielle Doporto for the recommendation! Full of delicious authentic foods to enjoy while being illuminated by lanterns.

Concrete Jungle

Love smoothie bowls? Have you ever tried a blue algae bowl though?! Concrete Jungle’s “blue Majik” – I was reluctant to start, in front of me was a stunningly constructed art piece. The balance of colours, textures, even the bowl choice considered, hesitant to destroy this masterpiece I ensured there was enough photographic evidence before tasting time… wow!! Majik in my mouth. Brilliant, friendly, great atmosphere and vibes. Looking forward to going back again!
